Launch Day !

Well it took two weeks to build and launch which is either a long time or quite short depending on how you look at it.

Only being able to work part time is refreshing from a professional point of view but also frustrating, so once again it’s full of contradictions and a real “real life” situation.

From idea to realisation I’ve reserved two domains, built up the website with two languages, helped with the conception and realisation of the logos, artwork and inner workings.

With my partners I have the stationary and business cards.

I’m ready to go and this is it!

Now I’m off for a few days holiday in Scotland and I’ll take care of your orders next weekend.

Day fourteen

I worked a lot on the translation of the French pages. I mention this in the French blog section.

I’m almost ready to launch and then I will iron aout the kinks on the texts collaboratively!

Days nine to thirteen

What a difference a week makes. It was a busy week socially. An evening at a rather good restaurant and a night at the Opera were the highlights. It was a great week but here we are on a Friday evening and still a lot of work to do on the sites.

Although this site is almost complete I still have to translate everything to French on the sister site which I will link to once it is more or less ready.

I’m planning on making some time tomorrow to do this.

Day eight

A lot of work has been done on the site today. I created content for most of the pages and worked on the photos heading the about me page.

Earlier I deleted the rss link image and substituted the Let’s discuss it! image which links conveniently to the Contact page.

Day five, six & seven

Doesn’t time slip sometimes! The only excuse I have is that it was the weekend. Which is not to say I haven’t been busy, but you know how it goes don’t you! Real life catches up with you and before you know it an additional day has gone by …

I have been busy working on clients sites, watching the last few episodes of “Bones” and entertaining the family. I added some substance and now you can contact me directly. I discovered however that both my profiles at LinkIn and Plaxo need working on. Plaxo is in need of a lot of work. (sighs)

I did have a productive meeting (after the Chicken Satay I prepared for Sunday Lunch) with my personal graphist (my daughter Jennifer) and she gave me my new business cards and we worked together on the stationary. It’s better to print it straight from the computer rather than print on preprinted paper. The result is great!

Not advanced a lot today but did investigate the rss feed images and search form. I’m thinking of deleting the rss image and leaving it for banners. I want to tidy up the search form too because the button is higher than the form.

Being lucid I probably won’t be able to add much before the weekend so the launch will probably be for next week now.

Real life caught up with me today and I’ve not done a lot around here. I consolidated the welcome page and did some administrative work and made this post.

I spent a lot of time working with my graphist on a client’s site adapting WordPress themes and doing some coaching. I also discovered utterz.

Today was taken with reserving this domain and transferring the (meagre) content from the tempory home at justgraham.net. Now that the site has taken permanent residence I can continue to build up the content.

I expect the launch to occur over the weekend (in 4 or 5 days time).

Welcome to for.seasons. This is a day by day account of the building of this website.

With the input from a professional graphist at jenninov we have established the logo and colour scheme of the site.

I chose a theme from Jai Nischal Verma and changed both the headers and footers. I reduced the typesize slightly. I updated the About page but this is still not right.
